Mercy Regional Emergency Trauma Center receives Level II verification from ACS

This extraordinary achievement recognizes Mercy trauma service’s exceptional care for injured patients. Other hospitals in the area have lower State Level III and IV designations except for UW-Madison which is a Level I facility which has teaching and research activities as well as offer specialty services such as burn and reimplantations.
The Regional Emergency Trauma Center at Mercy Hospital Janesville and UW-Hospital-Madison are the only Level I and II American College of Surgeons verified trauma centers serving south central Wisconsin. Mercy is the only Level II verified trauma center south of LaCrosse.

The Regional Emergency Trauma Center at Mercy Hospital Janesville offers patients immediate, life-saving care close to home with resources available that can care for critical emergencies, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and continue to care for most injured patients through their entire hospital and rehabilitation course.
As a 24/7 Level II provider, our trauma-trained surgeons and 10 new emergency department physicians are experts at providing critical care to injured patients. This team of expert’s works with our neurosurgeons, orthopedic surgeons, ear, nose and throat surgeons, plastic surgeons, and highly trained medical critical care intensivists, cardiologists, hospitalists, and rehabilitation specialists. State-of-the-art laboratory and medical imaging, trauma-trained emergency department nursing staff, skilled inpatient nursing, respiratory therapy, social services and inpatient and outpatient rehabilitation programs support our doctors and patients.
